2013 Breeding season is officially STARTED for us!

Our official breeding season starts much earlier than those in cold northern climates. We are just entering the breeding season, while everyone up north is bedding down and worried about the long winter ahead and keep water available.

Awesome news Celtic. I am so excited and beginning egg watch here as well. The geese are moving into their new barn tonight so at least the search area will be much smaller.

Congrats on the new barn! Please share pictures when you can. We are about to go out and finish a power line and doors on stalls. I did the first sub dividing yesterday and will continue to further divide out this week. The dewlaps will be divided by Mid December unles they start dropping eggs before then.

eggs are fertile! We will have Christmas and new Years goslings for sure.

Probably

but only mixed eggs here right now. I'm separating on Saturday. Giving everyone a chance to get use to being let out at different times before hormones kick in. As I don't have fencing to give everyone their own daytime yard this year.

Good idea, ganders can be nasty with each other during season and can cause big injuries to each other. I have a friend who had a prized goose killed by fighting ganders.
