I get them for show. I've been raising Cochins & Sumatras for about 10 years. I got rid of my whole flock about two years ago and I'm starting it up again. I really miss the birds i had before. I absolutely love Bantam Cochins and Sumatras!

I'm trying to plan now to choose a couple of chicks from the beauty list: silkie, sizzle, frizzle cochin, frizzle polish (All from the same farm locally.). SO excited! I'm just sad I can't choose several of each, just in case. XD
Those are all awesome breeds! The only one that I discourage is the silver laced wyandotte. I had two, but I rehomed them because the were way to skittish and un-friendly. I would even hold them or let them out everyday to make sure that didn't happen. But that's just my opion. :)

But anyways: I am getting 3 new chicks on either March 11, or 18 th. The breeds are a Black Astralorp, White Jersey Giant, and a Buff Orpington! :))

I have 3 new chicks and one of them runs up to me, jumps on my hand, jumps in my lap when I'm sitting, follows me, etc. I'm mama hen to her. The other two are from the same place, same hatch, and they are AFRAID! I'm sad to say that I see this happening with them, too. :' ( They're supposedly about a week to two in age and polands (I have a "what are we?" thread on them.).

I had a chick like that in last years batch? But most of mine were friendly from the begining. What kind are they?

They are supposed to all be Polish but there was an unknown breed rooster in with them, as well. Apparently, he and the Polish rooster got along well enough. LOL! So, only one of the Polish chicks has a crest. The crested silver laced Polish and a golden laced potentially Polish both have beards. The other... Not sure. It is golden laced and beardless. XD The obvious Polish and the unbearded chick are the two skittish ones.
