2013 Chicks Picked Out!

Thanks for the heads up on the silver laced wyandotte! They are gorgeous but less skittish would be nice. My blue laced red wyandotte is the runt and quiet one of my bunch right now. I just love the lacing on this breed.

I will get some chicks tomorrow but I REALLY WANT A SILKY BANTAM my hen is sitting on 9 eggs and they are peeping

exciting!

I am new to BYC, but have been lurking for a few weeks. I found some Silkies, Frizzles and "Sizzles" that will be hatching in about 2 weeks. They are local and they will call me as soon as they hatch. I will go and choose my little babies. I can't wait. The brooder is ready to go!

Ok! I have 2 out of the 3 breeds pick out! Salom Faverolle, and Buff Brahama! Still looking for a 3rd! I'm getting them at Meyer Hatchery, (meyerhatchery.com) if any BYCer's want to help me out picking my 3rd and and final breeds go to there website and look around. And the pick-up date has to be on March 18th! Any help is greatly appreciated! Just quote my reply. Thanks!

I already ordered mine! They will be making their way here to Tennessee on the 30th. We went small this year because we're also getting goats and ducks and we currently have 13 hens.


We got

2 Salmon Faverolle
1 Buff Brahma
1 light Brahma
1 Welsummer-male
1 Russian Orloff
1 Barred Rock (a hawk got mine this past fall and I LOVE this breed)

We also got three ducks

1 make Pekin duckling
2 Black East Indie female ducklings

Can't wait!

What about Cochin? Same lacing, more friendly! I had a pair of SLW, I also rehomed mine. Very flighty and skittish. Even though I raised them from day old chicks, they wanted no part of us.
