2014 Crochet square swap, colorful circles.

Sorry I just like to spice things up here. I hope no one mind.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
2
His house is in the village though;
3
He will not see me stopping here
4
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
5
My little horse must think it queer
6
To stop without a farmhouse near
7
Between the woods and frozen lake
8
The darkest evening of the year.
9
He gives his harness bells a shake
10
To ask if there is some mistake.
11
The only other sound's the sweep
12
Of easy wind and downy flake.
13
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
14
But I have promises to keep,
15
And miles to go before I sleep,
16
And miles to go before I sleep.

And coops to clean by the end of the week.

You might be right, but I just cleaned mine already. I do plan to add more shavings.

I can not believe I lost ALL my tape measurers. I want to redo the nest boxes in the Delaware coop to exterior ones and increase the roosting space inside the coop.

The hook size that is working for me is the "k-10 1/2" or 6.5 mm

Well I started with a "K" and it looked like the first couple of rounds were not much bigger than with "I", so moved to the "J". I don't care for the way it looks with a "J" but I'll continue and see if it finishes at 12".

If it's too big I go back to the "K" .

I have finished with mine ending up with six different color variations. I'm thinking that I'm just going to work on a bunch of the small ones to fill in the spaces throughout.

I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do to augment them to make enough for a blanket, thinking I'm going to wait and see "my set" before making any definite plans.

The wife recently got "her" blanket from the church ladies and it's 12" squares. Knitted and Crocheted. Very nice. Different colors. I've done some for the blankets too.

Used to be everyone had to use the same yarn but as long as the squares were 12" it was okay. I liked that better but you know women. Some complained the yarn was too expensive, yada , yada. I guess that changed with who ever heads it up now. So all the squares are different yarns and colors.

Sister Trudy passed away and she was the one who headed it up. She was VERY good at knitting. She ran the church store so it was easy to connect with her. We make blankets for those who are sick in the church. The idea is to pray for those you are making the square for while you work. You only have to make one square. They looked much nicer when all the squares were made with the same yarn and the same color.

Anyhow, I was thinking to donate my 12" squares from the swaps. Others I'll work into an afghan by making squares like a patchwork quilt.

Now these circles were a good idea in that they're finished with the same yarn and color. They're sure to look nice. It might be nice just to make more circles since I have tons of yarn.

I have a pattern for a circle but they're made like a spiral. Kinda like this. Only I think mine is for a potholder.

I was actually thinking about making spirals to mix in w/ the circles from this swap, but not 100% sure yet

I've never made spirals before. How is it done? I can see ranchers pic, but how do you connect the last row to the first?

I've not done circle spirals, but in the square spirals you have to use a skein (or ball) for each color round. Even if the same color is used for 2 rounds you have to use a separate ball for each.
