The chick is still hanging in there even with the neglect during our wedding weekend. Monday it was looking like it was getting weaker and not eating or drinking so I talked to Kathy about tube feeding and got some really good advice and ideas on how to help.

I put the chick back into the hatcher after starting liquid with vitamins. Once it began to start pooing we started it on a Kaytee mix of one part Kaytee to three parts of water, that is where we are at now. The chick is somewhat weaker, but we will keep tubing it through the day and see if it gets stronger.

I have a FR 10 catheter and 3 ML syringe and am now up to 3/4 ML of feed after doing 0.5ML of liquid twice and 0.5 ML of feed once. I hope to be up to 1.0 ML feedings by this evening.

By the time we got back with the Pedialyte and vitamins it had expired.

Odd thing is I have another egg that should have hatched from the same batch. I candled them before I tossed them and could not decide if this one was dead for sure. I opened it up and sure enough it is breathing and moving, but I am not sure I want to try to 'help' it.

Got my third egg! I've been able to narrow it down that she's been laying between 8:30 and 9:30. I decided to take pics of the egg when I candled it.

Look who gave me an egg yesterday!
The coming two year old Spaulding Purple Black Shoulder pair! I saw her drooping her wings in the morning and thought maybe I should start the Corid treatment, never thought about her laying yet.

She got her second worming treatment of Valbazen, still undecided about doing the Corid before letting them out onto the dirt.

Congrats, I hope it is fertile.
