Sitting on my hands is so hard... especially when nothing is happening that I can see... Making sure the humidity stays up., but that's about it. I have some sponges in the incubator with an aquarium tube run between them that i've been keeping wet. But the suspense is killing me! I saw one rocking a little bit last night, but not any visible pips yet. Ugh, so suspenseful!

Lockdown on my quail eggs this afternoon. Hoping for a good hatch, hens will be added to my current flock and most roosters will be sent to freezer camp.

I candled my chicken eggs and threw out the wheaten ameracauna. 3 lavender orpingtons and 4 lavender ameracauna look great. Not bad for shipped eggs.

ETA; my chicken eggs are due to hatch the 25th.

happy hatching

Need some help. I have an egg with the air cell attached to its side. I had hoped that over time it would move to the proper position but it hasn't. He's been in the over for 11 days and happy as can be. I'm really worried that he's going to have a hard time hatching. Right now I have him in an egg turner but I'm debating whether or not to put him in a different bator and hand turn him. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I had one of these during my first hatch. It hatched just fine because it pipped in the perfect spot.

How does quail taste?
Good luck with hatches. Sorry about your Wheaten. I think I'm going to lose all of my Blue Laced Red Wyandotte eggs. I'm excited about lavender though. I have lavender ameraucana in my incubator too. Fingers crossed for you.

I totally understand. It's hard to walk away from the incubator especially when you hear them start peeping.

I'm only on day 5 but I'm a worry wart so I candled a few and I couldn't see anything in my wellsummers eggs I'm hoping it's either too early or they're too dark to see in this soon I'll wait til Wednesday night and check again

My Welsummers from my first hatch were unidentifiable until Day 9 when I could tell one was clear. With dark shells I recommend waiting until Day 10 to worry.
