@frmboyinthecity we are nearing the end of our living room!!! I have all the wainscoting complete except going back the hall, hubs did my faux electric stove installation, I love it, our coal stove is in the lower level but its nice to take the chill out in the livingroom in the early morning before we stoke up the coal stove! He wanted to do the v pattern above the stove but I refused to let him do it! he wanted a mantel and I made him do a faux stove pipe instead. he thought I was nuts, but I love it and no mantel to dust! We still need to do the pallet molding around the top of the room but its been raining again so no ripping boards outside.

That looks awesome! I really like it. I need to work on mine some more. It has been crazy at my house the last 3-4 weeks, but I'm about half done with the one wall. Then I need to build a mantel for our upstairs fireplace, and redo the one in the basement. I love that pheasant against the pallet wood.

So much going on here, my head is kinda spinning trying to follow along with everything, but I love it!!
Im getting ready for new chicks, Halloween, and cooler weather.. Bring it on!! :)

thanks! I cant wait to see yours! and btw, that pheasant is there to hide the open pallet box made to hide the white doorbell box, genius right ha ha ha I want to find a really really small spot light to go on the beam in front on the ceiling to shine slightly down on the pheasant from above, but I am not finding what I want anywhere

. I see these things in my head and then cant find them, maybe I will end up making something and add a dimmer switch after we are finished, but I think accent lighting is key. we did some cool lighting downstairs when we did our coal stove and it really made it pop.....

I have a cool idea with some ball jar wall lighting or whisky bottle lighting for above the american flag painted on the drywall above the couch, the previous owner painted it there, I wish I could move it to the kitchen table but since I cant, I cant just paint over it either, its neat and she antiqued it so itstays. again, with the right lighting I think I can make it work in here. my antique ball jars with clear lighting, black piping may give it the rustic modern feel I like. idk we shall see.

My kids loved Spanikopita when I made it but it was a lot of work.
Cold cut sandwiches are real easy and well liked.
