You are in the HAL if you have eggs incubating this month. You don't have to have them set for Halloween day.

There have been many times that I lost track for whatever reasons, and didn't stop turning the eggs or raise humidity until I saw the first pip. It worked out fine.

Question:

I have an empty hovabator 1588 that I'm hoping to fill on the 21st, so I've been running it to see if it's stable. The thermometer I placed inside says the temp is 99.5 and the digital reader says 100.1 or 100. Also the digital humidity says between 35% and 40% and my hygrometer that I put in it says 60% (it's a reptile aquarium hygrometer)

Should I adjust the temp or the humidity? I was thinking I could add less water and then see how they look at day 7 when I candle, but I don't know if they lose too much moisture it they can get it back?

I've never done this before so all help is appreciated.

The built in thermometers and hygrometer can be off and are difficult to calibrate. I use stand alone instruments and calibrate the hygrometer using the salt test and thermometer using the ice water method prior to every incubation. Good luck.

not having a good day, my springer had two seizures today. never had any before, not sure whats going on. if she ate some cake or something else or what.... this day is just awful. family is up at the waterpark all upset when they left and so disjointed without mom. but I am sure fine without me by now! my poor baby girl is prancing around and so confused. researching online all day. vet still didnt call me back. waiting.... we had a beagle when i was a kid had them but these are not the same, these are weird....

Whoever said that the egg turners weren't good in the 48 incubator..was right! Thinking I will go buy one, make a slot in the bator for the new turner..and should be good to go. This thing does keep the temp perfect, and the humidity!

I have accepted the possibility that none of my eggs will hatch. Just had to switch them back to the Genisis, LG was grossly inaccurate. My poor eggs.

I did the ice bath test (I had to put them in a zip lock bag so the cardboard backs would get wet) one reads low, and one is accurate, the digital one matches the accurate one.

The salt test for the hygrometer is pending, is reads 50% right now and has been in a sealed bag for about an hour.
