I have one wheaten in the bator due to hatch the 22nd. I may wait until spring to add anymore. I'm going to pick up 8 1 month old Ayam Cemani chicks tomorrow.

I considered more Ayam Cemani as I have the two pullets but my long term goal is egg color diversity, so it's gonna be Legbars, Welsummers, Araucana, Ameraucana, and Isbars (with a couple of Marans mixed in for variety) lol I do love the uniqueness of the Cemani though, congrats!

Thanks! I have legbars also. 2 boys, 4 girls. Will add more soon. I love the blue eggs.

BEAUTIFUL! I already had 4 Legbar pullets. I just got 10 (6 pullets and 4 Roos) from Greenfire on Wednesday :) I can't wait for my older girls to start laying. Should be anytime now as they were early April hatch!

Is that a sizzle in the first pic?

This is my first hatch;  I have 8 eggs being shared by 2 broodies & 6 in the incubator.  Just candled the broody eggs last night & most of them have the air cells in the wrong place.  Will the ones with the misplaced air cells have a better chance of hatching if I put them in the incubator instead?  That way I could help them hatch if they need it?

Were these shipped eggs? Personally, I think there is no better way to hatch than a broody, but when I get shipped eggs with loose air cells, I like to at least start them in the incubator so that I can keep them in position and not turn them until the air cell heals a little.

ETA: Sally will have better info for you, I think she may be without internet with the crazy weather we've been having.

I did find a breeder in South Carolina. Weathering a hurricane right now but quickly answered my inquiry and is reserving the next batch (6+) I doubt that they will arrive by the 10th but I will set them when they arrive and follow behind. This is my first hatch so I will need to watch those much more experienced than me anyway. I just googled the heck out of "Wheaten Ameraucana" all day. I hope you find some, and a larger quantity than I did. I would love to compare notes as they mature!!!

Sweet! Those Ayam Cemani are cool.

Frizzle Tolbunt Polish out of Greenfire stock, yes. I had two but lost one. I did find some hatching eggs of them too. (Only 4) I may get them to add to the 6 Wheaten Ameraucana to try to ensure I have a few chicks to raise together given the time of year
