nice althought Sat are NOT the best time to ship EGGS when they have to sit a day!

Babies everywhere and more to come.....this isn't all of them but here are a few pics: (the ones in the coop with the older ones are no longer doing the huddle, they are flying everywhere and playing lol!

YAY!!! hi babies!!!

They cut a part of my biological grandma brain out. She ended up in hospital most of her life.on my fathers side.he never knew his parents. He got adopted out. We only no parts of history on it. And pieces Drs pieced together over the years and what individual symptom diagnosed . It attacks body. Anything it comes in contact with. So I have to watch diet and how foods our prepared and even grown. Like example chickens I can control what they eat living conditions and pest control around coops a little better. We know what's going on. If from the store we have no control.
Also there's defects in body that didn't develop in my son and i

I believe we sprayed them with water early on in the process of incubation and 3 made it and died a week later. And 3 died. No water kills eggs. To much kills eggs. If it goes under 60 humidity it kills eggs if it goes over 70 it kills eggs. There's not an easy fix.

Do you mean relative humidity with those figures? I wouldn't incubate eggs all the way through at 60% humidity - that is far too high and would drown them, at least where I live and with my forced air incubator. I keep it at 30% - 40%. I don't boost to 60% until lockdown. It's far more important to monitor the air cell or weight loss of the egg than to worry about specific percentages. When you watch the air cell and/or weight, you can make adjustments in the humidity as needed. Here's a handy chart:

700

Using this you don't have to stress so much that your humidity is perfect every step of the way. If the air cells are too big or the weight loss is too much, boost humidity. If the air cells are too small or there isn't enough weight loss, you can just reduce it. That way it's not so stressful wondering if your humidity is working or not.

The one incubator will not hold water at all or the humidity goes over 80 in the incubator . It stays 60 -70 humidity on to sponges not wet but wrong out. But hard to ring them out without moving eggs and opening the incubator. The other one will hold water but will not go above 50 humidity .
I use glad food container for humidity in the styro bators: Each one will raise humidity 5 to 10%. Sometimes I use one and sometimes I use two. They fit tilted on one side of the turner rail.
So how do you use them?? This would be really helpful to know right now. We just set 40 quail eggs last night:)

I am not sure there room for it on top. And when we gave truck driver for the week we left her in the incubator it drove the humidity way past 80.

Cut an opening in the lid, fill with water up to the opening and place them on the rail between the turner and the side of the incubator.

We tryed canning jars it drove it up high and it wasn't stable on top and was in the way of the eggs and a confused chick trying to move around.

We tryed lower humidity in little giant and failed. 60- 70 humidity at lock down in the other incubator pro series.

@frmboyinthecity we are nearing the end of our living room!!! I have all the wainscoting complete except going back the hall, hubs did my faux electric stove installation, I love it, our coal stove is in the lower level but its nice to take the chill out in the livingroom in the early morning before we stoke up the coal stove! He wanted to do the v pattern above the stove but I refused to let him do it! he wanted a mantel and I made him do a faux stove pipe instead. he thought I was nuts, but I love it and no mantel to dust! We still need to do the pallet molding around the top of the room but its been raining again so no ripping boards outside.
Love it!
