So how do you use them?? This would be really helpful to know right now. We just set 40 quail eggs last night:)
Cut an opening in the lid, fill with water up to the opening and place them on the rail between the turner and the side of the incubator.
How large are these Glad containers? They look pretty small in the pic. I'll have to go find some today. And thanks for your quick reply. You're awesome!

Yes, they are the small ones. They work well for dry incubation

With egg turner there is no room for bowl or container or jar in little giant

In my little giant I just soak dish sponges and put them in the gap between the turner and the wall. I also put paper towels trailing out of the water reservoirs to create more water surface area across the bottom. I have no trouble getting humidity up this way.

There's no room on turner. With eggs.and we tryed to place the hygrometers on rail and it gets stuck when it turns. There in a small crack in front of turner so there no room for water container sept under the guard rail metal in one and plastic in the other on floor of incubator . There's rocks and sponges down there at moment.

Question: We haven't tried incubating our chicken eggs yet. Thinking this next Spring. Our rooster is a bantam Frizzle (black & white). If we set our blue eggs from our Americauna hen, do you think we could end up with Frizzle looking hen chicks that lay blue eggs?? That would really be the cat's meow:)

So put more sponges in there. There's sponges kitchen cut up on bottom in groves . So put one on top by hygrometer .

Is she true Ameraucana or Easter Egger? Is the rooster Cochin? Cochins are brown layers. If the hen is true Ameraucana, then all her chicks will lay green eggs. If she's an Easter Egger, then her chicks may be green or brown layers.

Just thought I'd share with you a picture of one of our roosters. He only happened because I got all crazy with setting all eggs during the Easter Hatch A Long

I needed another rooster like a hole in the head!
Anyways, he is the offspring of my Ameraucana hen and my black frizzle rooster. Doesn't help with your question, just thought you'd like to see him!

He is a little aggressive with people, but is so, so wonderful with the hens, that he is tolerable.
Straight feathered, but super soft with leg feathers.

We were told she is an Americauna, but someone recently on one of the forums said she's an EE. I have no idea what a Cochin is. Here's a pic.The hen is the blue or gray one, whichever you'd prefer to call her coloring. I call her blue and she (Goldie) is on the far right. Frizzle, our roo, is in the middle behind the feeder. We bought him from a local feed store. If you can tell 100% about both, I'd love to know the correct breed too:) The old man we bought Goldie from is who we also bought our ducks from. He thought the ducks were mallards. I learned on the duck forum they are WH., so as with the ducks, he may have made a mistake on Goldie's breedtoo. Thanks:)
