I go into lock down with my first set tonight. 6 silkie frizzle mix. Not sure what I will do with these. Will have some cute babies for grandchildren to see on Halloween night though...I hope.

@Scovy Momma I just noticed you have a Kangal/Great Pyrenees. I had to look Kangal up and WOW I'm impressed. I thought I knew LGD breeds well, lol. Does yours have cropped ears? Good with chickens/ducks?

Bummer! I was thinking maybe if they were eggs that took longer to hatch that would be normal but I'm still new.

BTW, are you in Manhattan, KS? My best buddy lives there! I fly back & forth often the last 7 years!

We actually just moved (still close by though) but yeah! lived in Manhattan for 15 years!
Day 7... light eggs, should see something..

Ugh! I'll give them a couple more days and check again. I really want chicks! (╯•﹏•╰)

So, I finally found the flashlight! Candled the eggs while hiding in the bathroom (day 7). I have some questions. First, when I candled two eggs the yolks seemed to roll around in the egg, is this bad? All of them looked "inactive" except one might have had a dark spot. No veins, no obvious dark spot.

I've never gotten eggs from this lady before. Should I start getting worried?? Our last hatch went so smooth, but I KNEW we had well fertilized, fresh eggs. These, ones not as much.

edit: ALL the eggs look inactive, not just the rolling yolk ones

Definitely give them more time. What kind of flash light are you candling with? I'm new at this but I've learned from my first hatch that day 7 can be disappointing but then what a difference a few days can make.

It's a pretty bright 9LED, but nothing special! :) I'm trying to remember our first hatch, and I'm pretty sure we could tell by day 7, even with them being brown eggs. These light ones are much easier to see through, I'm just not seeing anything! I guess if it's a bust I can always try to win one of the contests giving away hatching eggs! huuuuuuuuuuu..... :(

Nope, he has full floppy ears. When he was a baby they were the same size as they are now, so he has finally grown into them. He is a runt for either of his breeds though, not even a full 100lbs unless he's allowed to pack on a little weight.

He has never given me any trouble with any of the animals in the house or been one to chase any birds when we are out hiking, wheeling or at the park. He's a pretty good boy, very easy going & a great guarder. He knows that everything I feed in the house is his responsibility to guard. He's always the first dog outside & the last one in to make sure everyone is where they belong

Love that place! He's within stumbling distance of Aggieville.

I hope they're just late eggies! Everyone should have chicks!
