You're lucky...I noticed a little "off" smell when I came home & looked all over my bedroom...it was coming from the tiny incubator on my night stand...my egg smelled funky from the air hole...I lit it up & there was still no movement...I put it in a zippy bag & cracked it open & it was a slimy blob with some green...so, no Halloween chick for me, I guess there's always next year...

This is my favorite month & so far, this month bites

All those cute little fluffy butts, today is day 10 for me. I was going to candle but I'm still sick so I don't want to shiver and drop them. I'll check on day 14 I guess.

Here's my Halloween hatch so far! 7 d'Uccles, 2 bantam EEs and a Serama. One more Serama pipping, and then the rest of the eggs are not due for a few more days. Took out 4 d'Uccle eggs that died.

Look There is a silly ONE in there again! ha ha ha

So 3 more hatched! I only have one more left. It pipped. But was only peeping when I had to put more water in the bator. I found it an hour ago, the pip was on the bottom side of the egg. I'm not quite sure when it pipped, but should I be worried.

congrats!!!! bottom side, just make sure the pip hole is clear of oozing fluids, and you should hear the chick peep or see beak move just a tad

The Gods are smiling on me! I can't even be,I've it!! My broody hatched one, just one, But I'll take it!! I had given up hope as she was supposed to hatch on Wednesday, the egg was intact last night when I checked under her and I had started my search for a chick for her to break brood, Yay!!!

Today is hatch day for us. We incubated 40 Cortinix quail eggs. We've had one white peep born in the early morning, but he looks so lonely in there all by himself. As usual this is an exciting day for us here. Now have to scramble (uh-oh bad word to use.lol) to get the brooder inside and set up.
I'm running late, bc I didn't fall asleep til 6:30 a.m., so gotta run. Will be back tomorrow probably hopefully with our final count.

Yes I turned it upright. It appears to be making slow progress. I think I am just impatient because the others only took an hour to hatch.

Did not have a hatch on Halloween; however, I adopted 2 sexlinks to keep my little guy from being depressed. Hopefully a new hatch will yield more of his own size to play with.

what is going on @Saris did you head to the doctor? you still have fever? I am worried for you now. Do you get fever often? I never get fever unless I am really really really sick! are you sure you shouldnt get some care? please take care, all those littles need you! I pray you are better until morning and this fever is finally broken!

Not yet, if I'm still feverish I will go tomorrow. I don't usually get fevers actually. My last one was halloweentown last year, but it only lasted a day. This one started Wednesday night. Tylenol and Ibuprofen are keeping it down to around 101 so it's not terrible. I hate going to the doctor.... I appreciate your concern and prayers. Thank you. I will go tomorrow if I'm still feverish. My littlest one had it and it lasted a couple days, but Tylenol took her fever away completely and she is fine now.

Avicultural exchange, in Westford MA. I will probably sell them once they get older. I won't have room in the Spring.

edit to add.... and luke was a rubiks cube for school yesterday and tonight he wanted to be a zombie, but I wasnt allowed to do his makeup, only DAD was allowed to do it, because dad plays video games, NOT me!
