I gradually increase it over the 3 days to about 70 when I see the first pip and have great hatches. I had 73% hatch last time on shipped eggs. I won't lock down until tonight. Check the aircells. And decide how much water to add. It is 70% rh in the house at the moment. I only added a small amount of water on day 7, because humidity was quite low that week and the cells grew quickly. They were right on track for day 14. The humidity has been around 40% in the bator without water since day 14. I set mine at about 10:30 pm. Mine usually pip day 20 and finish hatching day 21. Roll on Tuesday.

Yep, it is different for everyone. I have mine around 50 right now, will up it tonight to 60. I had them in a brand new bator, wasn't sure how it worked..boy that thing holds the humidity! I have some small air cells. Will be interesting to see how they do. I've had them hatch with the air cells this size before, not all of them are small, most are right on...so, exiting..excited for Tues. also!

AAHHH!!!
Soooo sweet!
You're lucky...I noticed a little "off" smell when I came home & looked all over my bedroom...it was coming from the tiny incubator on my night stand...my egg smelled funky from the air hole...I lit it up & there was still no movement...I put it in a zippy bag & cracked it open & it was a slimy blob with some green...so, no Halloween chick for me, I guess there's always next year...
:hit
This is my favorite month & so far, this month bites

Awe that's horrible. I'm so sorry. At least you have your other little one

Here's my Halloween hatch so far! 7 d'Uccles, 2 bantam EEs and a Serama. One more Serama pipping, and then the rest of the eggs are not due for a few more days. Took out 4 d'Uccle eggs that died.

So 3 more hatched! I only have one more left. It pipped. But was only peeping when I had to put more water in the bator. I found it an hour ago, the pip was on the bottom side of the egg. I'm not quite sure when it pipped, but should I be worried.

The first hatchers. Named ghost and tiny Tim

Cute babies, cute names.. have you heard the other one peep lately? They do take a rest after having pipped. Give it some more time. You turned it upright..right?

MORE...HALLOWEEN STUFF....

Tip toe, as to not disturb the busy little peeps getting ready to zip!

The Gods are smiling on me! I can't even be,I've it!! My broody hatched one, just one, But I'll take it!! I had given up hope as she was supposed to hatch on Wednesday, the egg was intact last night when I checked under her and I had started my search for a chick for her to break brood, Yay!!!

Lovely pic of baby with mama.

Today is hatch day for us. We incubated 40 Cortinix quail eggs. We've had one white peep born in the early morning, but he looks so lonely in there all by himself. As usual this is an exciting day for us here. Now have to scramble (uh-oh bad word to use.lol) to get the brooder inside and set up.
I'm running late, bc I didn't fall asleep til 6:30 a.m., so gotta run. Will be back tomorrow probably hopefully with our final count.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN:)
