We are brand new to raising peas. We've been raising chickens for 4 years.
We have a 1 year old ib pair from a reputable breeder. She laid 5 eggs this week and we set them under a broody chicken.
Should we get our hopes up for these first eggs?
I'd appreciate any tips you can offer.

Good luck on your egg!Kathy, the old Brinsea bible says 11-13% weight loss is whats needed so only one of yours overextended that. Good Luck!! My first pea egg of the season has pipped tonight and it's a purple much to my suprise.
Ordered some bronze white eye eggs from Louden farms and they arrived yesterday morning! Bout them under a broody hen this afternoon so wish me luck!
