2017 Gosling Hatch a long!!

Yes that's exactly what I used on one of mine. I folded it up about 4 times and it propped the egg up beautifully. Just don't spray it when you start to mist them or it'll go soggy and ruin your humidity! :)

Ha ha ha.

Would you like to have a good laugh, and nominate me for the silliest, most terrible at math, crazy, overprotective girl in the world award ever???

I was talking to a friend about the eggs, because it's all I can think about right now. Lol

We did the math....so....we are only now day 5...officially as of 7pm.

Lmao. Of corse I didn't see anything today, it's only day 4

I guess in my excitement, I miscounted.

So, we aren't going to panic for another week. Bwahahahaha

Ha ha ha!! That's so easily done tho!
I was a day out a one point because I'd set them at 11pm and forgot that the following day was day 1!
It's good news really because you have longer to try to sort the air cells that aren't right.
You'll have to be patient that bit longer now! :barnie

Ok. So, Sad news.

After more thorough internet research and a heck of a lot of candling, I realized that all 6 eggs have horribly detached aircells. Not sure why I didn't catch on to this sooner. They roll all the way down to the pointy end when turned, and some of them make a plopping feeling when this happens

Any chance at hatching with a detached aircell went to the wayside when I kept them on their sides and turned them 3x a day. I also learned that they don't fit in a vertical position in my incubator, it's too shallow

I have a new set coming, should be here by Friday, I'll candle them immediately to check cells and then let them settle for the day. Should be able to set them Saturday or Sunday.

Looks like I'll be needing an ac adapter for my car because now instead of traveling with baby goslings, I'll be traveling with an incubator running in the front seat I called brinsea to confirm the voltage I need so we are all set there as well.

What a mess this was, and if this next set doesn't work, I'm out just under $400 and would have been better off buying a few adult pairs of geese.

Oh I'm so so sorry. And you had started to get your hopes up yesterday too. :hugs
Will you get any money back from the seller or have you had to buy more? I've never bought eggs so I'm not sure how it works you see.
It's amazing how you can get a car a.c. adapter tho for the incubator. That's very resourceful! :)

I had to purchase more, she gave me a discount so I got $5 off per egg, which helped a little.

The package had insurance but because there was no actual damage to the box I won't win that one. Lol

I'm actually feeling better now that I know what caused it, those eggs were a mess. I can only hope the next batch comes through a little better. And at least I know what to look for and how to help them along if I have the same problem as before.

Cross your fingers these make it better than the last set. I'm tossing them now because I do not want to deal with an explosion in the incubator. My stomach wouldn't be able to handle it. Lol

Yeah definitely sling them.

What a shame tho. But as you said at least you know what's caused it and have learned a lot in the process!
And maybe they will package them extra carefully for you this time.

I binned my dodgy eggs today. Well actually my eldest daughter eggtopsied them and they were both clears. For some reason she enjoys eggtopsies!? Even the later stage one's.
Very little had happened in the blood ring one and nothing at all in the clear one. Oh well, finger crossed for the 5 remaining!:fl

Friday's not so far away you know and you can start all the worrying and candling all over again...!:lau

True!
Is your daughter for hire? Lol. I'm
Interested to know if these were even fertile but even the thought of cracking them makes me gag.

My husband is going to have to toss them for me, I'm scared they'll crack and make a stink when I put them in the bin. Ha ha ha
