2017 Gosling Hatch a long!!

No I don't blame you! Especially if you've still got the dreaded morning sickness.
To be honest they probably won't smell as they didn't look like they had really developed much, but if he's happy to dispose of them for you then let him. I'm always a bit sensitive about failed hatching eggs when I'm pregnant. Must be a hormone thing!

Thankfully not much actual morning sickness, just random gagging once in a while!

I had to take the garbage out so I put them on top and gently lowered the bag into the bin >.<

I'm more worried about any assisted hatching I'll have to possibly do. I gag just thinking about it. lol maybe that will be a good time to teach my teenager to do it. Ha ha ha

Yes maybe! Though I've never assisted a hatch so far so the thought terrifies me! I think I'd be physically shaking too much and drop it or something!
Is it common to have to assist a gosling hatching?
I lost a chick 4 weeks ago who had partially unzipped then died. I still have no idea why and kick myself for not helping. By the time I realised it was struggling it was too late because it had started in the middle of the night and I was asleep. I got up in the morning, went to the incubator and thought oh no...:hit
Well done for disposing of the eggs though ;)

My last batch of 4 goslings I had to assist one, who just wasn't making progress.

I may be more nervous about incubating than assisting. It's not bad. You just go slow, and allow the membrane to dry. I would do a few minutes of work and then back in the incubator for a bit. I'm more confident in my assist than my incubating skills. Ha ha ha

I've done plenty of chickens, ducks and the one goose (who became my baby)

Ah bless what a beautiful goose!
You'll be the one I'll be messaging if I need to assist then! It's judging when to assist...and I'm still terrified of opening incubators during a hatch. Too much internet searching has done that to me!

He was my baby, my husband named him Foie, his mate of course, was Gras.

So; my new eggs are in the mail! Scheduled to arrive Friday!

I'm currently trying to decide what kind of chicken we are going to have....I like the Isabel orpingtons. But my daughter still wants bbs.

Oh I love the names! I haven't even thought of names for mine yet. I guess I'll see what hatches first!

As for the chickens...get both!;) Would you have room?

Yay for Friday!!! I'm excited for you too!:celebrate:wee

I don't pen; they free range so I'm trying to keep it to one variety so I'll be able to sell some hatching eggs next year.

I'm excited too! It says they're in transit now. Hopefully they will arrive in good shape this time.

Oh I see. You'll have to choose then. That's not easy!
I've just set up a second penned area for the bantams I hatched. We have a bird flu problem over here spread from wild birds so our birds aren't supposed to be out at all. It's a real pain.
I'm crossing everything that your eggs make it unharmed this time!:fl
