Yea, my hubby said the same thing after my last batch of chicks, they were a wk old last SAT.lol I set the goose eggs last Monday.;)
So far 3 of the 5 are definitely developing. The other 2 may be,not sure. I'll candle again in a few days and update.

I find hatching a bit addictive I think! It's finding places to put all the birds tho ;).

Good luck with your goose eggs. I found it much much more exciting than hatching chickens and the children really enjoyed it too. I don't know if I'll get to hatch more geese any time soon, so I'll watch and enjoy everyone else's hatches now!

Congratulations Nannette!!!

They're so cute.

And I'm glad they hatched well in that incubator I was a little concerned about the head room but now since there's just one baby I'm sure it'll be fine.

I agree! Hatching geese is way more exciting and stressful than chickens for some reason.

Congrats Nanette! I did a better job candling this evening, and I do have an external pip! It's not fully through the shell, just kind of a triangle outward indentation. Still not hearing peeps, but did see some slight movement. The other 2, still nothing new, saw the same as last night. Here are some pics taken by my tablet. It doesn't take great pics and my 8 year old daughter was the photographer, but for some reason my phone pics won't load properly, just as downloadable content.

Thanks! I wish I were a more experienced Hatcher. I've only done a few button quail, and their shells were too think to see much. The 2nd pic seems a little off but I don't really know what I'm looking at though I've looked at loads of candling videos on YouTube. I wish I knew definitely if they're still alive.

You'll get better each time, I have been hatching chicks for many years along with quail and the occasional duck. But question myself constantly and fret and worry. And I think that's part of what makes you get better at it. It prompts you to read more and ask more questions. In the end it's all that baby isn't it? Be patient with yourself and keep trying. ;) Let us know when that little one pops out....

yes i see it!!
Hooray!!
I have three healthy goslings so far. One I had to help a tiny bit ad it was exhausted. The last one is stuck in goopy membrane and I am in the middle of an all day assisted hatch. I am a shaking bag of nerves.
Wish us luck :fl
