Ideal and would be a good purchase

Brinsea are very reliable, good at getting up to and holding temp and humidity. I would recommend a seperate hygrometer for this model though as it does not have one built in.

Over here in the U.K. Brinsea have put those models on at a reduced price as they will no longer be making them due to the new range they have out, so maybe they will do that also for the US? http://www.brinsea.com/
Okay, thanks!

Here are the first 2!! These were in the smaller eggs i set they are the ones i was the most worried about because of how small the eggs were are they are both out and doing great!!!!! I have one more that im a little concerned about it is piping on the side of its shell so we shall see

Eta: i have 2 little giant still air incubators one of incubating and the other i bought just for lockdown since i have some that have different hatch dates as i have duckies as well

they both have been great at holding a steady temp and humidity
Yay! What cuties!

We do ours in the cones, and I do feel like it is the most humane. If I mention chicken killing to any non BYC friends, they are like ''Oooh, I bet it is fun to watch them run around with their head chopped off'' Then I have to explain that is about as unhumane as it gets and if I ever had to see that I most certainly would not find it funny. I think the cones have them much more relaxed. If my mom is just doing one or two at a time, she just cradles them in her lap till they fall asleep and then does the deed..............Here we are on a HAL thread with new lives all over the place and talking about culling...

Welcome to the thread, Melanie! I can not wait to see pictures!
I was going to get a hovabator, but someone here on BYC convinced me to get the Incuview.
If you get a Brinsea, I am going to be so jealous!

I hope you find a good one though!

Today is day 12, I am getting so anxious! Humidity is staying in a good range though, and everything seems to be going ok!
I was interested in an incuview, but I got to reading about Brinsea's, and I was hooked!

yayyyyyy!!! I have 3 out so far and 2 that i think arent going to make it all the way out they have been pipped since about 7 this morning and havent made any progress

pip to zip can be 24 hours
zip is no more than 90 minutes

I'm a little late but day 5 and I candled my 24 sulmtaler eggs and 22 were going along. I know that there is supposed to be a time period in the middle where you don't touch the eggs but I forgot, can somebody help and remind me about it.
candle d10, d14 and d18

Well i done the no no with one of them it just looked off like it was upside down in its shell sorta so i opened it up some careful and sure enough it could move far its head to zip its now out and doing good just waiting an watching the others now so far ive got 4 out of 8 so not to bad for my first time

you can rinse the sticky chick in warm water, just make sure to not ger it in their nose
may have had humidity too high early on

How adorable!

It looks like all 4 of my broody's eggs developed and all 4 look like pure, blue silkies! One did quit last minute unfortunately but the other 3 look good. I'm very thankful that I incubated one random egg just in case he clutch failed because I'm sweeping all the pure silkies to hand raise lol. The baby from the random egg looks like a little mix. A perfect baby for her to raise

Yay! Can't wait for pictures!

Thank you! I didnt even think about rinsing them off! The humidity did rise a good bit once thwy started hatching
smile.png
sticky chicks can mean you had humidity issues at the beginning of the incubation,

make sure the water is warm, dont pick at them, make sure to warm them up after quickly
may take a couple bath times
