2017 Groundhog Day Hatch-a-long!

Ugh. My Calls have made no progress even through its day 26. No external pipping, but quite a lot of rocking. I'm really worried about them- I guess I'll wait anouther day or two before candling them and maybe helping them a little.

Haha! We think alike! I tried to get my husband to do the dirty work of eggtopsy, but he refused!
oh my gosh at all my typos haha!! Im just glad my hubby will do it for me lol he is excited to do it idk if thats a good thing or bad?!? Bahahaha he will ask me everytime its time to candle if he can crack the ones that dont look good im like dude chill lol hes says well its the only way to know thats what you told me when we started this. My words bite me in the rear sometimes lol

I candled a couple on day 23, before I put them into lockdown- both were alive and the air sacks were looking good, but no internal pips. I haven't candled them since.
i am not sure how they are in the UK, but i was very hands on with my hatch of calls, in the states they need a lot of help

ok that is what i was thinking but wanted to be sure. This will be the lowest point in the air cell correct? After i make the hole is there any certain things i should look for or do to i dont harm the baby if its miraculous alive?
yep just dont poke the bird

ok made a hole but i tried to stay away for the dark part and only in the air cell best i can see is that the membrane is fully intact no holes

They're mostly still, getting ready to hatch.... There's drawdown in one, rest don't look ready yet.

Cool! Mine started rocking on day 18 and today there are seven hatched and seven pipped, waiting for the others to pip....:fl

Yep, in a month! Can't wait!

Oh, how exciting!!!! I can not wait to see pictures of them!!! You are so lucky. :D

Well, out of the dozen Buff Orpington eggs I set five have hatched and one is pipped. I had to help one Buff Orpington after 14 hours of not moving a bit and he/she is doing great! All the buff orpingtons are so energetic when they first hatch! They are running around so much am I afraid they are going to break the other eggs! I set 6 Black Australorp eggs and 2 are hatched and the other 4 are pipped. The first one got out, but then the membrane somehow put it in a straitjacket and the poor thing could not move and I had to clip it a bit to get it started. After struggling so much she was very weak, on top of the fact I had to help her, but she is perking up a bit now and I think she'll pull through. The second Australorp hatched 30 minutes ago and is still drying off in the incubator.

This is the second Australorp chick.
Out of the 8 White leghorn/Australorp crosses, one was infertile, two have pipped and still waiting on the others. Here are the peeps!

I got up in the middle of the night to check on them and ended up falling asleep with a chick nestled in my neck next to the incubator.
