Yes! It’s the blue I’m utterly obsessed with. Once I can afford it I’m going to paint my house this color too!

So I don't have to ho back 3000 pages, can you post the picture again? I was considering that color for possibly wood around the bottom half of the run(instead of putting plastic every year) I think it would look good with the pvc.

At Home Depot they have good, better, and best paint options. I went with semi-gloss good. Two coats and it looks perfect!

I was orginally going to do this but I worry about them pecking at it. They sure do destroy plastic of any kind. I'll try this. I'm trying to use materials I already have on hand. I got almost everything I need. I have extra wire(2 kinds). I need to figure out what to put on the floor. I may have to buy a piece of plywood. All I know is I want to do it all at once.

The ducks seem to be pretty set up.

They have access to the tub, so I wonder if I can leave the water in the tub while I'm at work? I have saw them all get in and out. Ricky struggles but he struggled with the ramp to the pool to. They are staying in the tub for the most part, they come out to eat and go back in. So far the bedding is staying dry.
I didn't have any trouble with them pecking at it but I can see how it would be a worry to you. There is no floor to the cage but I've never had any troubles nor mess with having it just on the tarp, its water proof as you know and I've always found that it keeps everything in plus is very easy to clean, I just use dustpan and brush to remove bedding then wipe over with damp cloth if needed. I don't have a picture of it pegged up and this pic I'm posting, I had forgotten to peg it and did it after I took the pic. I'm posting this one to give you an idea of how it goes, and an inside view just in case you might want to try it (inside view was taken just after I'd put them to bed for the night, I cover it with a duvet cover to block out our lighting

If you look carefully you should just be able to see a pegged part in the corner and on the edge.

@llombardo @ChooksNQuilts - I had a meeting with the guy from the complaints department, he said that b'cos they hadn't heard anything for a few months he thought it was done with but then two weeks ago they received further complaints, this time the complainers are claiming my birds are attracting vermin, which is a lie! We've always had mice around here, we live on heath land and are surrounded by woodlands for goodness sake. I am so angry at the lies these complainers are telling. He's quite a nice guy, he explained to me that he has no power to do anything its just his job to investigate complaints then report back to the people he works for and also that the company has handed it over to their legal department but he doesn't know if they will take it to court or not, he never knows what course of action they will take, until they decide b'cos hes "just the messenger" so to speak.
I told him about my closest neighbours and neighbours across the road who have no problem with me having my birds and that one of the neighbours daughter came over in the summer to see them, I also told him I gift the eggs to family, friends, acquaintances some of which include my neighbours and they are grateful for them. I also pointed out that most I spoke to didn't even realise I have these birds until I told them, and one said she expected them to smell but has never smelt anything, nor has anyone seen any vermin at all.
@llombardo I used what you told me about the meaning of livestock to support my case, he said to them these are livestock, however he will put it to the people he works for that to me they are not livestock by dictionary definition.
He said he'd put all this to his boss's and will suggest he talks to the neighbours but told me not to get my hopes up as he has a feeling they will refuse him.
I asked how many people have complained but he isn't allowed to tell me, but he said there have been several complaints, first was a noise complaint and about us having the coop and now its the vermin complaint.
I don't know how this works but I would have thought if they are going to use the vermin complaint against me they would first have to find out if there is any and if there is, would have to prove it is b'cos of my birds that the vermin are there - I told the guy I leave out food 24/7 and that apart from my birds eating at it, it is untouched and if there were vermin about they would eat it. I have also put out food for hedgehog which many people do and I've only had one hedgehog visit so far a few weeks ago and that food is also untouched, vermin would have eaten it.
I am angry at my parents who are my landlord/lady, b'cos I asked my dad repeatedly for several months if there was anything in the deeds to say we can't have chickens/ducks and he said no and got mad at me for keep asking, but it turns out he didn't even check the deeds and it says in the deeds livestock are not allowed, there is also a document which they both signed, when they bought the property in 1992, stating they would adhere to the agreement for 80 years, they don't even remember signing it! Now they are pissed b'cos if it goes to court it will be they who gets taken to court not me b'cos they own the property, and they don't want to have to pay out court costs, I told them they should have thought of that before they decided to brush me off when I questioned if the birds are allowed and should have done as I asked them and checked the deeds - as a result we are hardly talking now, they don't want court costs so want me to give up my birds to save them the cost and bother and I have told them if they make me give up my birds I will never forgive them and they will never see me, my daughter or my grandchildren ever again, however if the housing company take me to court and I lose and get ordered by court to relinquish my birds, I won't hold them responsible as it wouldn't be them taking me to court. I have told all concerned I am not going to relinquish my birds, I am praying about it constantly and have asked Jesus for His permission for me to keep them, if it goes to court and a court orders me to relinquish them, then I will know God's answer is no. Just got to hope He's on my side on this one.

Unintentionally ended up on your YouTube through this video, so very glad I did, really enjoyed watching your vids of your flock, especially the boys crowing - wonderful birds you have and it was so lovely to be able to watch and hear them.
Oh I’m so glad!
Yes by all means watch any that you like.
I mainly have the YouTube account to video my chickens so that I can share them with BYC people.
I recorded a video of Angus and Silkie crowing a while ago and I can’t upload it for some reason. I think the file is too big because the video is over 6 minutes long.

What exactly did the document that is good for 80 years say? If you were to purchase this property would that agreement transfer from your parents to you as a new owner of would the agreement be null and void?

If by any chance this agreement is null and void with new ownership, is there a way to transfer ownership on paper? It may sound like a lot to go through but I'm thinking you may now need a permanent solution. Other option is to possibly move. Both are very extreme.

I hate that you don't know who it is. Telling them the food is left outside may not have bee a good idea. I know what you are saying and why you did it, but they may hold that against you.

I'm saying a prayer for all of you and hope this goes away soon.

God’s answer was no when you moved into a community that doesn’t allow it.
Why would Jesus be on your side to break the law?
We must, as Christians, adhere to the laws of the land as long as the law doesn’t force us to sin against God.
Laws that forbid people who live in certain areas to have certain animals are not causing anyone to sin against God.
I’m sorry you’re going through this BUT you must see that the research was your responsibility BEFORE you even got the animals!
Otherwise you set yourself up for a situation that is caused by you and nobody else.
I see many threads on BYC where people get chickens KNOWING that they’re not allowed to keep them where they live!
It’s just mind boggling to me how many people feel that the rules don’t apply to them.
They convince themselves that because it’s something they want, love, “need”, like, etc that they are entitled to do what they want.
I know you kept asking your parents but since they are the owners they have the final say about their property.
That’s why I always hated renting; because I could never really have animals.
To tell your parents that they can’t see you, your daughter or grandson is very cruel!
This is not something Jesus would have us do.
Especially not over pets!
Our relationship with God and our human relationships are the only thing in this life that are Eternal.
I love animals and especially mine BUT I would never put my animals above my loved ones in any way.
It’s heartbreaking when people hold animals above human relationships that involve people who love us.
And before you say that if they loved you they would agree with you and let you keep them, that’s not how love behaves.
We are required by God to honor our parents.
I don’t think Jesus would bless any prayer or action or behavior where a person was cruel to other people in the name of their love for animals.
For the record, I am not speaking of cases of animal abuse or cruelty.

If it were me I would find a good home for them where I could go visit and they were well cared for.
OR move to a location that allows them!!

@ChooksNQuilts heres that paint color I promised. Sorry it’s a few weeks late, my brain has been on the Frits lately! View attachment 1604919 Congrats on your beauty, keep up the positive attitude with baby’s sex. My fingers are crossed for you!

I will definitely look for it if we ever build another coop or decide to paint the prefab.
