2019 may hatch a long!!!!!!

My Miscovy duckling hatched! It is weak and does not seem to eat and drink, When i assisted it on hatching, it quickly thrust out of the egg and it accidentally cut its umbilical cord connected to the small unabsorbed yolk.... I cured its wound with Betadine solution.... Still not eating, it only sleeps and sleeps.. Can someone tell me how to get it to eating?

These two are alert and active this morning. They’ve pecked at their food a little but aren’t interested in water yet. Now that they’re both fluffy, I can see that they aren’t completely identical after all. The older one has gold down around it’s face and belly, where the younger one is white/silver. Anyone know enough about feather color genetics to explain that? The younger one also has a much fluffier face.

I know this is a hatch a long but I was wondering if I could ask a question about my adult hen. She is a year old and, yesterday I thought she was egg bound because she was just laying around she moves real slowly when walking, but today she layed an egg and is still laying around and when she does walk she walks slow, she is not showing any other signs of sickness but tonight I'm going to do a little health check list and see of there is anything weird. I was wondering what ot could be.

I've got nine eggs in my 'bator at the moment - all Nankin Bantams. When I candled, last week, seven looked good. Two may be quitters, but I gave 'em the benefit of the doubt and left them in. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. They're due to hatch this weekend, which is perfect, because I have another Nannie and a couple of Kindergarten Dropouts (both standard pullets) in the brooder. They'll be moving out to a kennel in the main coop on Thursday - just in time for this next batch to hatch. I LOVE Spring!

UPDATE! We have five babies! FIVE! We've got four more eggs in the 'bator, but two of them are the suspected quitters. If we don't see pips by tomorrow morning, I'll candle again & see what we've got. But Five out of Seven? I'll take those odds ... and keep my fingers crossed another day or so for the last two ...

Just saw your post today I’d been at work 12 hours yesterday and today was dead tired and had not had time for anything. How is your duckling doing?

So far 7 chicks were hatched by the broody #1 not sure if the other 2 eggs will make it, by tomorrow I’ll probably have to remove them off momma hen since it’s going to be day 24.

Is she eating & pooping okay? A boost of electrolytes might help, and/or poultry vitamins, if you have them.

Hi! I am brand new here ... and so are my two hatchlings. Both hatched by my broody Buff O, one today and one a week ago tomorrow. Papa is a Jersey Giant.
The one that hatched today (yesterday now, actually) was "helped" by my 11yo son, who did not know any better. Of course, I came here to search for answers and to see if there was anything I could do to increase its chances. Now, several hours later, the Peeper seems to be doing quite well! Only, the Mama does not want it back. I had to put it in a separate place with a heat lamp because she was pecking at it. She is being a great mom to the week-old chick, though.

We have one more egg to go -- so exciting!
