Day 19 i officially have one on the way. It's a bantam egg so im not too surprised it's early. My hovabator started running a little hot this time around too. Im gonna have to do some test running once this batch is out.

One of the 6 from Brinsea Mini II EX hatched this afternoon, this is a Leghorn/Marans mix (bluish/Black) surprisingly the other photo of 2 white ones with black dot from the broody are the same mix and same parents. 16 chicks hatched Ovation 28EX, 8 more to go, was too cloud up to take photos since it was so crowded. I might have have to remove some that fluffed up.

Ive got 6 pips so far today. I should wake up to at least 1 chick. Which is exciting. I'm wondering if i should lower my MHP. It's about 4-5 inches high, i could bring it down to 3. I've never hatched bantam chicks before. Current floor temp under there is 34C (93F) there are 31 eggs currently in there though and i dont want them all over heating.

Can you lower it just on one end? Or maybe prop up one side by about an inch? That way, they can pick and choose where they're most comfortable.

The thing the heating pad is on is a hook on shelf that's upside down. I can switch to a cookie cooling rack that's lower. Which i probably should. The cooling rack is what i normally use.

That should work.
I'm a sucker for "ittle bittles," so I'm all about the bantams. I saw that some of your larger egglets are likely mixes (Some of the most beautiful chickens I've ever seen have been surprises!) Do you know what kind of bantams you have hatching?

Nope. I got to see some of her chicks from the same parents though. They were really cute.
