Very good reply!OK, this is what i've sent back to Metzer Farms yesterday:

Dear Samantha,
Thank you very much for your quick answer! I hesitate to point fingers too, but what baffles me is that the duckling is hopping on her left foot as if duck only have one leg. She has received a large dose of Niacin and a vitamin B complex and is now asleep, mother nature will do whatever mother nature decides to do…
Regarding the decision between replacement or refund, i do believe it is a very bad idea to ship a single bird at this time of the year, plus this duckling would be shipped out next Monday and be ½ the size of this weeks ducklings by then, so i opt for a refund or a store-credit.
Best regards from Charleston (WV)

I assume -9°C - as you are living in Canada. That is lousy cold, especially when you calculate in the high(er) humidity that i'm sure you will have and that sucks the warmth right out of your bones. I remember -30°C in Red Deer Alberta felt quite ok, compared to the wet -3°C in Baltimore. Tomorrow night the bottom here will drop out: -17°C is forecasted for Charleston. I'm up a bit in themounthills and we might get down to -20°C … I hate cold weather, wish i'd be back in Houston!
I have the same basket! I used it to carry speedy and fancy when they were babies! I got mine at Walmart though...So exactly which "$$" store did you find this and the water basin and basket? We have Family Dollar (which had the green basket but it was way too small), Dollar Tree, and Dollar General all within reasonable distance from us.
It is beautiful here most of the year! Very green, lot's of forest, creeks and rivers. We live 20 minutes away from the airport or downtown Charleston and it feels like we are in a really rural area. The airport in Charleston offers decent connections to the rest of the country, which is important for my job as a consultant. And then, we bought a 3500sqft home with 40 acres of land for 250K - find something like that around H-Town…I've been meaning to ask since you moved from Houston and I'm considering moving. Why WV?
