2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

Pics
The crested Buff just went walkabout. I need to operate on my brooder. They want out, then scream bloody murder to get back in.
Somebody must have shown my ducklings a video with Kangaroos! They try to hop out of the brooder... Almost... two days, maybe less.
Need to cut a long cardboard strip and grab the Duck-Tape.

I'm very confident that @WVduckchick and her friend will do the best they can to heal Forest. - I almost had a breakdown today at TSC - they had little duckies…

Thank you. She fell in love as soon as she arrived at my house to get her. We agreed she needs a new name though, since she is female.

I tell ya though, that is one super sweet little duckling. It wasn’t easy for me to turn her over, but she will have a fabulous home and is already very much loved.

I did take a few minutes to feel around on the leg, and I think what happened was in the shipping box, I think the top bone of her leg was broken, and has now kinda healed, just a little crooked. There is a noticeable “knot” about mid-thigh. I need to look at some duck anatomy pics to see exactly what I was feeling. But I’m pretty confident that she will learn to walk fairly well. Probably never perfect, but enough to get around.

@WannaBeHillBilly it was a pleasure meeting you and the care package was appreciated. That little duckling will be dearly loved.

A few cute shots I got:

The pleasure is on my side! :highfive:
Thank you very much for the pictures, i know she will be better off without 14 little Bullies! I felt that knot too, but the leg was never warm and it was just limp without any feeling. I pinched her little bit in the left foot and she squeaked, i pinched her a bit harder in her right foot and - nothing. My wife says she has seen chicks hatching from a twisted position in the egg and their legs looked similar. I definitely would shorten the hobble to pull the leg more to the center, but its all up to you now. :fl
Thank you very much for giving her a chance and a good home! :hugs

We talked about it and thought maybe she will leave the hobble off for a day or so, and see how she does, and I also thought it should be a little tighter, now that she is using it better. You did fantastic, considering the other 14 maniacs. :D

She’s already sleeping in her new mommas arms after chowing down and a little swim therapy. And her new home, complete with piggy stuffed animal and a blanket. :D

That is just so sweet. Thank you for sharing the pics!! She looks so content - probably enjoying the alone time with her new mommy!!

She looks happy and at home! I bet she is exhausted from the trip and so many new experiences, she's a traveler duck now! If you want to give her a female name, what about Amelia - after Amelia Earhart? - Just a thought…
I'm weighting the piggies and changing the zip-ties for the rings - they grow unbelievable fast!
