Well, that right leg looks a bit stiff, but it is much better than i remember! Good job!
You need to convince your friend to join BYC, having Daisy she will have a Gazillion followers from the start. Just tell her to get rid of that evil other web-site, sooner or later they will steal her duck's identities there… ;)

She said she uses the leg some, and gets around ok, but will probably never be “normal”. The little ones are 3 call ducks that I hatched a few weeks ago. She had hoped to integrate them, but Daisy doesn’t like them yet. she is spoiled. :D
She must be ten-times the size of the little ones! My White Layers are almost as large as my grown-up Runner ducks! She probably doesn't recognizes the little ones as duck(ling)s.

I need you guys to weigh in. I have two coops, a hormonal drake, an adult duck, 5 four week old ducklings and 2 four week old goslings. I was thinking about the following housing. Put the drake in with the goslings and the ducklings in with the duck. She needs a break from the drake. I could halve the two coops with some netting. Does this sound like a good plan?
Not sure, the drake might try to make »Gucklings«?

So put all the ducks in one coop but net George off from the girls and leave the goslings in the other coop. Currently all the babies are together in one coop and George and Mini are in the other. I want to separate the goslings out so they will bond. Last time I left them in with the ducks and the gander bonded with a duck instead of the goose.
Did you get some »gucklings« from that pair? - Really! Serious question!

Duckling update: It was a terrible mistake to put all the ducklings into that house!
Not tonight, but tomorrow night we will have frost here and i thought it is a good idea to remove the wet and poopy straw from their house and replace it with fresh and dry straw; a dry duck(ling) is a warm duck(ling)!
But then it hit me: How do i get the junk out of the house with the ducklings inside? :he
They need a place to go while i remove their sh*t! So i built a duckling patio for them today:

At first they were afraid of that new huge thing outside their house and didn't came out. That changed pathetically when i offered them duck-crack (meal-worms).

The patio is just a wooden frame with hardware cloth on three sides, the fourth side is open, so that it can be placed in front of the side door, to keep the 'lings out of the house for cleaning:

Or it can be placed in front of the run-door to extend the house. You may have noticed that large plywood-board in the back? I will use this tomorrow to build a flat roof for the patio. I think about cutting the board to size and wrap it with a tarp (it is untreated plywood) and then (somehow) attach it as a roof.
Here is another picture of the »ducklings« in the patio, look at the size of the White Layer in the front! - The floor boards are standard two by four's…

And finally, i could not resist to roll the camera, have fun watching:

Yes they are! I noticed today that the Magpies have almost all of their black feathers - you can't really see the difference between black fluff and black feathers. And what little white mine will have has also started to grow.
