Duckling update: It was a terrible mistake to put all the ducklings into that house!
Not tonight, but tomorrow night we will have frost here and i thought it is a good idea to remove the wet and poopy straw from their house and replace it with fresh and dry straw; a dry duck(ling) is a warm duck(ling)!
But then it hit me: How do i get the junk out of the house with the ducklings inside?

They need a place to go while i remove their sh*t! So i built a duckling patio for them today:
At first they were afraid of that new huge thing outside their house and didn't came out. That changed pathetically when i offered them duck-crack (meal-worms).
The patio is just a wooden frame with hardware cloth on three sides, the fourth side is open, so that it can be placed in front of the side door, to keep the 'lings out of the house for cleaning:
Or it can be placed in front of the run-door to extend the house. You may have noticed that large plywood-board in the back? I will use this tomorrow to build a flat roof for the patio. I think about cutting the board to size and wrap it with a tarp (it is untreated plywood) and then (somehow) attach it as a roof.
Here is another picture of the »ducklings« in the patio, look at the size of the White Layer in the front! - The floor boards are standard two by four's…
And finally, i could not resist to roll the camera, have fun watching:
