2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

Pics
I’m so sorry @CrystaBub! I didn’t realize you were even that close. If you can make arrangements to get the duckling, I’m sure my friend would understand!

So I really think Forest needs to get away sooner rather than later - tomorrow would have been really hectic for me to get there. if your friend can get her soon, that's great let her take Forest but tell her that if it doesn't work out to contact me. I'll PM you all my contact info.

Yesterday i made a waterer for little Forest out of an orange-juice bottle, as i saw in all the countless instructions/videos/pictures i set the bottle down upright, cut two holes in it so that Forest is able to stick her head in and set it up in the brooder. It was empty after 15 minutes…
Today my wife saw it and said »why don't you turn it sideways?« - She is soo right!

You're awesome, you both! - As said, for the duckling a 40 minute trip in the car is less stressfull than over 4 hours.

Now that is brilliant - i'm going to do that when I get my new babies in April!

» Humon beware! We have you outsmarted! «

So, humon, you really though you could prevent us ducklings from spilling our water into the brooder? - Hah! Beware of our combined duckling powers!
We did it:

You don't stand a chance! Or do you?

The waterer platform worked fine for just five ducklings, but fifteen managed to make the bedding soaking wet in no time! Good thing i have plenty white flimsy plastic bins from DollarTree! I cut-out and opening at the small side so that there is more space between the waterer and the bedding, let's see how that works out.
try that milk jug cut out I sent you! you could do it with a 1/2 gallon as well

Update on Forest: I caved in and PM'ed @WVduckchick, maybe she knows somebody around here who is willing to take her. :hit
She is still active and gaining weight, she went from 40 grams on Wednesday to 74 grams today.
But i had to rescue her last night the pile of ducklings - they just used her as a mattress… And twice today, first she was boxed in behind the waterer by the others and the second time she (was?) rolled over and could not get back up.
I keep her as long as i can, but in the long run she won't stand a chance against 14 others…
I feel like a traitor!
:hugs
