We are selling our entire flock.... The babies got injured and one died and .... I'm just not wanting to keep loosing them... With hubs so sick and myself becoming I'll I just want what's best for my girls. I'm sad though....

So sorry to hear about your flock :(
I hope you and your husband get well soon!

Good morning/evening everyone :frow
Hope everyone has/had a great day!

Sorry I haven’t been very active for a while..
the first batch of chicks from this year are starting to get big now, I’ve moved 8 of the hens into the duck shed and I’ve put a temporary pen around it to train them to stay there since the chickens that I tried to move into there a few months ago would just keep going back into their original coop.

some photos of the garden.. I haven’t really been able to do much this summer because it’s rained nearly every day. I did end up finishing the Laurel hedge though.

Good morning Myles! :frow. It's so good to have you back, you've been missed. Your chicks have really grown. Your yard is beautiful as always. I'm sorry you've had so much rain, that makes it so hard to accomplish anything!

Hi everyone!
Cool flocks pretty birds (and fish).I also wanted to sender the pol question, the egg came first, because when the red and gray jungle fowl mated, they lay the first chicken egg! Witch then made more chickens!

I have had quite the chicken math problem lately... I now have 13 chickens, here is how it went.

I went to TSC April 26th, my grandpa who I didn't know had died the day before, and my mom wanted a distraction from how to have a COVID funeral. We brought home 2 white Leghorns, and 2 buff Orphingtons. The next day, my mom took my sister to go get a jersey giant, and a black sex link. That was great, one white leghorn was named Valerie, one was named Laia, the buff orphingtons are named Livia and Hazel, and the JG was named Kayla, and the sex-LINK was named Zelda. (Get it?)
Then, Valerie became Valentino, Tino for short, the first oopster on the farm. Then we got 3 more starving chicks from a chick mill, 2 Plymouth rocks named Primrose, Mayflower, and a OE named Indria. Well fast forward 5 days, and Kayla became dragon. He was about 7 weeks when we had to rehome him. Tino still lives here. About 2 weeks later, we adopted a blind pullet, she is a Amber-link named Amber. She was lonely, so we bought a light Brahma named Lucy Gray, and a Wyandotte named Penguin. Both are boys, thanks to TSCs mislabeling problem, and are the sweetest little chicks. Amber is about 25 weeks now, my originals are 15 weeks. The young cockerels are now 5 and 6 weeks. And then my rooster injured one of my little Laia, and she now lives with Amber to. Then, my dad brought home 2 sex-links! *sigh* their names are Rosey and CeCe. Were trying to intragate Ambers flock into the pullets of the other flock, and separate Tino. Then we will put him into a rooster house, possibly with another roo.

Here are some pics of my chicken math issue. And a cute one of my dog because why not?

Good morning and welcome! :frow What a lovely flock, cute pup and beautiful fish! 💞

Hey guys!
Thanks @Brahmachicken240 ... Hubs had his surgery and he's healing really good, he can eat finally!!!
We found out something in the air is making me have an allergic reaction, where the muscles in my chest are so inflammed it's painful. It's not chicken related as we no longer have any and none of my neighbors do. We think it has to do with the cement company that moved in, or it could be I have developed asthma.

End result, we will probably have to move elsewhere, probably closer to hubs work which means in town or the city... We're very sad as we love the country life, but ... Oh well. We'll be looking for nonHOA places so we can have a couple hens but we'll see, it won't happen anytime soon as surgery really packed on debt.
I'm not on a whole lot as we gear up for year of remote learning for the kids.

That’s great news!Although it’s sad that you might have to move somewhere else 😢 hopefully wherever you move next they’ll allow chickens and you won’t have any allergic reactions!

I kinda jumped in here at the end, so sorry if you've said already and I missed it in the many pages of this thread but where in Ireland do you live, @Brahmachicken240 ? I spent a summer living in Dublin in 2009 with my long term partner, we went back on a family trip in 2018 and got engaged on a hike in Donegal. I just love Ireland.

That's such good news about your husband! I developed asthma after my kids were born...mostly exercise induced...not fun! Sorry that you will have to move, I hope you can find a place where you can have chickens again! One old homeschool mom to a younger one, I hope you have a good school year & your children thrive! 💞
