I'm weak, but my husband is strong...not sure I can get away with it!!!Chick fever is serious and can only be cured by hatching more chicks!! Better get that incubator out now before it’s too late![]()
She just needs to see how beautiful and fun they are, then she will understand!!!I was talking to a friend about the chickens earlier on today and the look on her face when I told her I had 30![]()
In my long experience with any animal...we all go through loss! I can see where it would be hard when you are at work all day! There are no guarantee's!So, I have had chickens less than a year and already have dealt with losing 2 to predation, roundworm, frostbite, wry neck and a possible bumblefoot case, the last two are current and obviously at the same time. I love my birds, but sometimes when a new medical case pops up it can be a bit discouraging. Does everyone have such an "introduction" into the world of poultry? I want to expand and breed, but working full time means playing doctor must happen very early and very late in the day. Does everyone have such a start, or do some folks have an easier go than others??
Chick fever is a terminal disease of the brain. Once it has infected it's host it can never be suppressed, causing the host to want to constantly hatch chicks! It can be calmed down but never gotten rid of.I'm weak, but my husband is strong...not sure I can get away with it!!!![]()
Happens to me all the time and I wish I could take a photo of their faces with their priceless reactions!I was talking to a friend about the chickens earlier on today and the look on her face when I told her I had 30![]()
Lol...agreed, but I know he won't build me a larger coop...so I must temper myself!!!Chick fever is a terminal disease of the brain. Once it has infected it's host it can never be suppressed, causing the host to want to constantly hatch chicks! It can be calmed down but never gotten rid of.![]()
