Those types of problems can definitely be hard to deal with! It's always sad to lose a pet and to see others suffer! We lost our 14 year old lab and a year later our 12 year old cat, loved them both and miss them immensely along with all of the other beloved pets I've had and lost over the last 50+ years! It's never easy!I wish the best to you!
I remember when my 19 year old Tibetan Spaniel died from old age and my 11 year old Scottish Terrier died from cancer within a few months of each other! I was heartbroken!

We lost one of our cats over Christmas.
He just disappeared one day, I hope he’s alive but at this point it’s very unlikely
