Rain never let up today... But the kids found a tiny egg by the shed!

It's so cute!

Was checking on the kids at lights out and found the cats looking innocent.... Too innocent. I think they're plotting something. 🤔

Hopefully it dries out tomorrow, Everyone looked pretty drenched so hopefully they dry out ok and don't catch colds... Rain was going straight into the stalls :hit

I feel like I’m becoming too inactive, I’ve just been so worn out lately.

By the time I’ve got my birds sorted or I’m back from work I’m shattered 😴

Worked hard today to move my brooding shed further along in our garden so that more natural light can get into the window of it. Took a lot of effort but we got there.

Tomorrow I’m going to try and get some photos of our exotic birds. We recently got some Bearded Barbet’s so I’ll see if I can get some of them.

I’m needing ideas on stuff to do to keep me on track.

excited to see photos of your exotic birds!
Congrats on the Bearded Barbets! Can’t wait to see them! :)

I almost forgot! My Dad and I made a roost with a poop board yesterday! The trays are tops of ice machines. The idea is that it would be easier to pop them out to deep clean them when they get really nasty. I plan to have a thin layer of sweet pdz so I can scoop the poop easily. Hopefully it works🤞🏻View attachment 2068677

Coop looks great!
hope it works out well!

Moving the shed was certainly a two person job too, absolutely no way I could move that 😅 Glad you got your rabbit hutch moved too!

I’ll definitely share photos here when I get them, as long as people are ok with that? I know exotic birds aren’t exactly chicken flock life but they’re still birds!

Anyways, I wanted to share where one of our laying hens ‘Paint Job’ lays her egg each day. She now hops into the dogs toy box to lay them.

one of our girls has a laying spot under a large white thorn tree, she’s the only one that won’t use the nest box

My haul for the day... I just love my beautiful eggs! :love View attachment 2068918View attachment 2068919

Hello and welcome to my chat thread 🐔👋
I’m making another one of these because the last one Went a bit silent and I was starting to talk to myself... Am I really that boring?? 😬 😂

Allow me to introduce myself.
I live in Ireland.
I have 30 chickens, 27 Brahmas, blue buff columbian, golden partridge, blue partridge and lemon Pyle are their colours, I could go through them all individually but I wouldn’t want to bore you..,1 RIR, 1 buff Orpington and 1 buff Orpington mix.
only had around 10 chickens at the beginning of last year but I became a bit of a Hatchaholic.. it was around 50 at one stage ...
The plan was to breed them but they ended up getting a respiratory illness so now I’ve decided to keep them as a closed flock. Which is kinda what I was going to do anyways because no one was buying the roosters and I just had so many.
15 ducks, the colours are magpie, Rouen, khaki and a few mixed. 10 Guineas, 2 cocker dogs, 2 rabbits 2 cats View attachment 2041209

I like to grow sunflowers every year because they are beautiful plants, they’re great for wildlife and they put a smile on everyone’s face.
