MysticUnikitty, those fabrics would make attractive face masks also - then you and hens would be in sync :yesss:

My mom is making masks from her stash for us... that way she has a way to feel like she's taking care of us :) I'm still a beginner sew-er, i was excited the other day when my seam turner out somewhat straight :gig

So i just did what i think is day 15 for eggs, one wasn't fertile after all, one looks like a quitter but i still see two veins? I left it in for now. But i have a bit of a situation.... One of the eggs is all cracked up! I'm not sure what to do... they still have at least 3 days... and the chick in there is very much alive... :barnie:fl:caf anyone have any ideas what i should do? I have it more sandwiched in so it cant move as much, i did that with another one that ended up with a slipped air cell. is there a forum on here for hatching issues?

** EDIT:
google to the rescue! and i found the hatching forum..i got a decorative unscented candle and melted some of the wax and sealed up all the cracks i saw. woohoo!**

thank you, I'm bummed i've lost so many this chick season, but it happens, plus that just means i need to hatch more :D

When you have the larger breeds it is more prone to happen, they had been good until just this past month, and it's just the australorps... i think this breed just doesn't have very thick back feathering so need a little more protection from my big heavy boy.
Yes! I got the pattern from here: https://timbercreekfarmer.com/how-to-make-a-hen-saddle-or-apron/

The pattern fits on a standard size piece of paper so it was easy to print off and cut out :)
Thank you so much! You will have to share pictures of the girls wearing their new threads! 💞

Looking forward to the hatch, hoping they all make it! :)

Good morning!

I thought I'd share some Chick Pics! These babies are 7 weeks old! I love my flock so much, some are kind of standoffish, unless I'm bringing their breakfast...lol! One of my RIR is super friendly like my Orpingtons! One of the Black Majesty Marans is starting to show some copper on the back of her neck, I'm thinking a throwback gene...can't wait to see how well she colors out, I wasn't able to get a good picture of her today!

Finally have a name for my Salmon Faverolle...Spazzy, trust me it fits...lol! Such a pretty little chick!

Penny...I just can't get over her color!

Pearl, roosting with her sisters...every bit as beautiful as Penny! She's harder to get a good picture of, but her colors are also amazing! I need to catch her in the sunshine!

The names are slowly coming to me! Thank you, I think they're beautiful, as if I had any say in how they would look...lol! And my Little Roo is as sweet as he is handsome, same as my other Orpington roo! I hope their personality's don't change to much as they get older! :)
