Actually, that’s a Speckled Sussex! She’s cute.

AM I EVER GOING TO GET A WELSUMMER??? Nooooo, but they’re gorgeous and I won’t be too sad. I just wanted the pretty eggs

Sorry! I’m pretty sure - the juvenile pattern is a bit different between the two breeds, and the Sussex legs are very apparent in that chick. She looks just like mine did.

Better leg pictures (they do look pinkish ) if that helps and the stripe looks like it goes down vs the up of the Sussex. Guess I’ll be getting a good look at the others left tomorrow if they’ll let me

The furthest feed store with the fanciest chicks is not getting anything I neeeeed until second week of April or so. Hoping my Meyers order comes through so I can toss some Sicilian Buttercups in unnoticed lol. Guess I’m just back to checking TSC for bantams! Hoping to snag some buff Brahmas, then I’ll for sure cancel my last McMurrays order. I’d love to find someone putting in an order with room for extras and get a Welsummer, but most people already ordered
