I have had a couple like that and it was convieniant to be able to adjust the size to reach into tight spaces. The one i used for duck stuff was dollar store junk though and i broke it.

If you ever find one that has no plastic pieces..(the one you posted looks like it's all metal)
You can cut the ends off where it bends and use it to roast multiple hot dogs or marshmellows over a fire.
We called that one our camping buddy.
