Frazzled chicken tender
Songster
My husband wants me to rehome both some hens as well as the roos. I found a home for a couple of roos and they want some hens. I am keeping my original roo as he is aggressive so i dont want to pass him to someone else. The other roos have completely different temperaments from him... all friendly and approach me, except one who keeps his distance and watchful, but tried to intervene when the original flogs me. Never experienced a friendly roo and has been so nice. Of course I know that could change. I hate to rehome my hens but if i rehome 5 standard size together, the change might be less stressful for them. At least they will be together. I wanted input on the least stressful way to do this for the hens and roos. And also some of the roos are so small. I wondered if i kept one would ratio still be off. I would have 2 roos and 18 hens (if my math is correct). The hens are a year and a half old. The roos around 4 or 5 months. Thank you for any input. The members of this forum have been so helpful in the past. I really appreciate the insight of people here. I've been needing to downsize for awhile, just kept putting it off. I'll attach photos of the roos. EE green egg gene father and various mothers from mille fleur to maran.
