23 weeks. Still not laying. Anyone else?

I have a Light Brahma that has laid 3 eggs since she came of age, all after 28 weeks, and 2 of the three had no shell.

We finally added extra protein to the rations, free choice oyster shell, and she laid a fully formed egg yesterday morning. Toss the girls some peanut hearts or something of that sort to see if it helps.

I have multiple types of chickens, bantom mixes, bedrocks, and cochins. they are 28 weeks old and only one of them is laying eggs. I think mine arent laying eggs because they arent heavy enough.

Our pullets were hatched 5 days after yours, and one of them laid an egg on 11/13/09. We don't know which one since we have 15. Suspects are two Delawares, six Welsummers, one Jesey Giant, and six EEs. The egg was small but a perfect and light brown. We suspect one of our Delaware girls squeezed it out.

We are feeding them a high quality layer ration from CHS (Cenex Feed). We go light on the goodies, but make sure they get fruits and veggies daily.

Don't worry, I suspect your girls will soon be more than yard decorations.
