24 hour old chick with legs and feet issue.

I would remove the leg taping. There is always a risk of cutting off circulation with vet wrap and leg splints. We ahave seen a few legs that became necrotic with wraps. It also looks to be bothering her in the video. When the leg wrap is off, are her legs still splayed out or not? You could make a hobble for that if needed, but try her standing in a little slightly warm shot glass or juice glass. I’m glad that you are devoting so much to helping your chick.

I make sure her feet are not cold while the vet wrap is on every couple of hours. The splayed legs are fixed, and the curled toes are mostly fixed. The issue now are her knees. They don't straighten out all the way, especially the left. I started putting her in a sling chair during the day. The leg wrapping actually helps her walk a tiny bit. She's getting around in the brooder much better. I think I am the only reason Seal is still alive because I'm handling her constantly.
I'm in a position to devote tons of time to this chick, and I'm happy to do so. If she lives, that will be an amazing outcome. If she doesn't, I'll feel like I did everything I could to help her. I'm the reason Seal is alive, and I feel like it's my fault she hatched like this, therefore it's my responsibility to care for her to my best ability. And I hope Seal's story, no matter the outcome, may help someone else with a chick of similar issues.

This is Seal after I took the leg wraps off. The left leg doesn't seem to be as bent up. I'm not sure what else to do if I'm not supposed to wrap her legs? Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you so much for the updates and videos! Wow, huge improvements, really, as compared to a few days ago! Seal is definitely doing much better with her little legs, just the feet do not seem to respond, much less her toes. I know you're measuring every little micro symptom, movement and improvement! It's as if she's not aware she has feet/toes. I cannot think of anything else you could possibly do in addition to her already extensive care regiment. Time will hopefully be her ally and then we can start chanting "hen"! I love the set up and so, SO cute the feeding routine. How clever, her little sling chair fits inside her feeding "tray"! You get the Pampered Chick Routine Award!

I felt the "feeding tray" would be easier if it was separate from the sling for ease of cleaning. I also couldn't figure a way for the sock to be used in conjunction with the food and water. With all the thrashing Seal does, this just seemed cleaner. And of course, the sock is better than the vet wrap sling I made because of her leg. Even with the knee taped, she can hike it up and flip out of the vet wrap sling. So, sock it was.

You have a design that should be patented! Ease of cleaning becomes tantamount with intense care routines, I completely understand. Seal is indeed thriving. She has such a will to live and loves her momma!
