Thank you for the encouragement! It’s easy to wait when they aren’t showing signs of anything.... but she is totally teasing me! She keeps sitting in the box and then will have no interest in it for a couple days.
I’m going to open the paint cans where she can watch me do it!! .
It doesn’t help that my neighbors Barred Rock is 3 weeks younger than mine and has been laying for a week. I have egg envy!

Haha! My girls have started laying pretty early since it is so hot and there is so much light here.

I wonder why your neighbor's has started already? I guess every bird is different!

I had 7 Barred Rocks. First egg at 20 weeks old.
Last to lay 23 weeks old.

All were laying for at least a week in this photo. GC

She is almost 25 weeks now- she has to be close! She has been in and out of the coop several times today.... no “urgency” though. I’m guessing she will lay tomorrow while we are at church.
