2nd attempt with Marans Dec. 3 hatch anyone want to join? (oops dec.6)

I set my eggs the 12th in the late morning on thursday so I counted my 21st day on the 3rd/all that dry hatch stuff confuses me I just try to keep my humidity between 35 & 40 for the first 18 days then kick it up to 65 for the hatch. But reading different threads for Marans they seem to be finicky hatchers but really worth the struggle!Good luck!!I think anyone that cares that much deserves a great hatch!!!

i will be due the weekend of december 5 and 6 too, i am incubating mutt eggs from a very nice flock tho (have my own thread with pictures of a few of the birds from the flock) and also started with 11 trader joe fertile eggs, and atleast 3 of the TJ eggs are developing possibily another 4, i just need a brighter light to tell

Sorry, I didn't put in my BCM eggs till yesterday, no room. I just put in Julie's dozen Orp eggs on Monday. I candled last nite, had 7 developing. I use the flashlite and inner cardboard roll in TP to use. Works great. I can keep the angle the eggs is setting the same to assure I don't cause any damage to the veining.

Where oh where are you going to put all these babies?

Ahhhh, heck, there's always room for one more!
Well, I'm getting rid of the hatchery birds ... that are all laying now, by the way! ..... so, I just MUST replace them! LOL Actually, I only have in a dozen White Faced Black Spanish ... (Oh my gosh, the eggs are JUMBO!) and a few silkie, NN, frizzle mixes (just for fun!).
So far the 4 coops are sufficient. But, I believe we will probably need another by summer. LOL
