2nd try on an Emu hatch**** a few pics added****

The other two have not pipped yet but are still very active. The one that has hatched seems a bit slow to get up and going. I still have it in the incubator. He is lying down then sitting ocasionally he will raise his head for only a second.

Are they normally this slow to start moving around?

It seemed to take mine a handful of days, I would say even a good week before they were solid on their legs and running through the yard like lightening.

That makes me feal better thank you!

The one that is out seems to be doing a little better. Still waiting on the other two. They are both whistling away from inside the shell.

Number 2 is out. He pipped about 9:00. I just came down to check and he was out.

He seems to have more energy than the first one.

# 3 just pipped. As I was checking the babbies in the brooder I looked into the incubator and all of a sudden. A chunk of egg shell flew off.

After watching the news we are going to have to name one of these guys Navy or Seal.

The third one is out as well now. However the first chick has gone done hill from last night. He seems to be getting weaker and weaker.

Perhaps try and give the first chick some vitamins or a little sugar water, often babies get low sugar easily.

Number one didn't make it.

I tried the sugar water last night. He just kept going downhill. He did have a small amount of using from his belly.

The other two seem to be doing very well.
