If you have eggs in the bator of several different ages, say 25 coturnix set 5-10, 25 bob whites set 5-15 and 25 chukars set on 5-20. When its time to lock them down, raise the humidity and quit turning, you can move these to a separate hatcher. This way it does not disrupt the other eggs in the main bator... A lot of folks use a still air hova as a hatcher. You see this refered to as a "staggered hatch" and its common. Bill

Would a still air styrobator be okay? How would I measure the humidity if I onlyhave one thing that does it O.o

I use a cooler\\bator myself. I went to wal-mart and got got several of the white, springfield, thermo-hydrometers. There about 6 bucks each. I have them stuck everywhere. In brooders, both bators, outside pens, coffee table... Well, you get the idea...

Welllllllllll I suppose I can use the one in the bator for the time being.. It is stable at 60% lately... If it goes down a tad it won't hurt the new eggs.. How easy is it to hook up a pc fan?.... To a power supply... For a hatcher.... I am worried about hotspots...

You don't want a fan for a hatcher, but it but it will work. It is pretty easy to do, just strip a section of wire on the power supply, and a section on the fan. Connect the wires and put some electrical tape over it.

Going to put a tiny fan in it.. Why not a fan in a hatcher? I can unplug it?

With a fan in the hatcher the chicks will get shrinkwrapped easier. Right now mine are hatching with a fan because the bator I bought off craigslist had a heating element go out...

Very easy, if you have the power supply. Most require 12 V power. Just cut the plug off the fan, leaving as much wire on the fan as possible, and do the same with the power supply. If its a 2 wire puter fan, just strip both (fan wires and power supply wires) and either solder or twist the wires together. Solder is the much preferred method and easy to do. If you twist them, it still works. Either way just tape them up good or use heat shrink tubing to cover the bare spots. Some puter fans have more than 2 wires, still not a big deal but just need the right one. Alot of radio and older cordless drill chargers are 12 V and work great... Bill
