3.5hrs later, she's still on life support and doing ok!...Every now and then she lets out a resounding PEEP!!
I've been sitting by her since about 10am and plan to 24/7 until she's out...We're learning a lot as we go this time as I'm working with about 4/6 of a full shell, saran wrap and qtips constantly keeping the membrane moist while maintaining the heat and temp in the bator...If she has a chance, we're going to make sure she gets it, I'm committed!...
And a very special thanks to walkwithdogs for being at the other end of the phone when I needed someone to help me help my chick! If you were here, I'd hug ya!
Here's what I'm working with:
Wrap covers 90% of hole, I took that before I fixed it...
10pm update: I've take off 90% of the shell and she's just sitting there in the same position as if she was in the egg but now her lungs can fill to capacity and she seems to be doing ok...She's a buff Silkie by the way and her name will be Mamala(my mom named her)...I'll upload some more pics of her soon...
Well on that happy note, I'll go to bed. You tell her she has strict orders from TN to get off her backside and start flopping around that bator like a proper hatchling...
I just got up and she's in the same position she was when I went to sleep, on her side resting...She's peeping and wiggling, I think she's just weak...
Some pics:
She's resting just like the last pic except the shell is by her side...She slept all night long...
