I apologize of this has been posted before.
I have , had, a 3 year old RIR. Over the course of the last 2 weeks she's been acting weird .
She is as the top of the pecking order.
Last week I noticed she was trying to lay an egg fpr what seemed like a while, when I went to check after she left, no egg.
Then on occasion when free ranging she would just stand there on almost a daze, by herself , while the other girls would forage. Then this am I went to water them and she was lying down , something she never does, so I picked her up she could barley stand, almost like a drunk,like she couldnt stand on her feet and I'd pet her and she would lay back down. I came home from work and my hubby said she had died but right before so she was flapping her wings to keep the other hens away from her, I'm assuming.
I flipped her over, after she passed of course, and noticed a big squishy what I thought was her belly. Full of fluids it seemed
Anyways just wondering if this has happened and if anyone knew what it was so nice can prevent this from happening to my.other girls
