36 hours from external pip. Not making progress! Should I help?

I wet the internal membrane a bit.
400

44% RH. I can see tiny blood vessels in the membrane.

WAY TO LOW.... not sure what your hatching but the humidity should be atleast 60 at lockdown and rise once they start hatching.... what are they? my experience with late hatchers is usually caused by a deformity of some sort but thats with a proper rh level during incubation and lockdown. i used to help each chick that didnt hatch in 24hrs but soon found those chicks were not as robust as the rest of the brood and failed to thrive. survival of the fittest if you will. I no longer help chicks that cant hatch on there own when incubated properly. it might sound mean but I dont want to have sub-par birds in my flock.

sometimes this is caused by opening the bator and taking out each chick once they are dry... loosing the RH. I dont remove any chicks from the hatcher until they are all hatched and dry, about 24hrs, chicks will be fine and can survive much longer from the absorbed yolk sack.

Im glad you intervened when you did and stopped them from getting shrink wrapped further. get some hot hot hot but not boiling water in the bator and try to get it raised up to 60+ rh. wish you all the best.

Ok, RH is up to 74%, and they are back in the incubator. I took them out of the incubator when they started pipping and put them in a brooder with a light on them to keep the temp stable, because I have and auto turner in that incubator and 1 egg that still has 10 days left, so I didn't want them to hatch in there. I didn't realize that the humidity in my house was so low.

I'll just turn off the turner, let these 2 hatch out, and then turn the turner back on.

I've peeled back the egg and most of the outer membrane near where the air sac was, and they seemed to try to push a bit more. I'll let them work their way out. I think that's the best solution at this point. They're squealing tons. I'll keep everyone updated in a few hours.
