36 Orp Eggs In The Bator - Photos!!

Can't wait to see pix of BamaChickens' grandbabies all dried off. I've got 12 of her orps and 6 RIR's in the bator right now but they aren't due until April 25.

Congratulations!

I have 4 of Julie's RIRs and they are the sweetest birds ever! They are feathering out to be a gorgeous dark red. So pretty. I'm hoping one is going to be a broody. She constantly flies over to see my week-olds and loves to lay down and let them play with her.

No, they are all straight comb. I've learned that rose combs are really difficult to get, even from rose comb parents. My birds from Duane Urch are still a mix of rose and straight, and he has all rose comb breeders. It's just really hard to get. I love my Bama chicks, though. They have the best temperments!

You can tell rose combs right away when they hatch. They look bald in the comb area, lol.

You hatchaholics have got to be the most courageous people on earth! I just couldn't stand the waiting and hoping, and then the possible deformities, etc. that sometimes happen.

And the look on the just-hatched chick's faces - like, WHAT THE HECK HAVE I DONE ??
