3rd Annual Northeastern "Sharkie" Chickenstock - NH - July 7, 2012!!! Come one...come all!!

Could you add some more breeds to the "wanted"  list please?

dark brahma pullet
quail bassette pullet
barnevelder pullet

ETA,   Probably a little silly in asking this now as I already plan to come (and am so excited for it!), but what is this like?  Roughly how many people show up to these?  How long of a day is this?  You know, those kinds of questions.  :celebrate

Roughly 50 + at the last one. I have a rough list f those who had "said" they will come...I am over 50 right now....
I am thinking I will say 9 to 3. People tend to trickle out as they are ready to leAve. Depends on sales and rhe weather as well.. Lots of kiddos playing and such. Grills going. Sales as the customers come and go. Lots of chatting. Raffle after pot luck lunch.

I wanted to ask if this was something the public came to. It sounds like it is.
I also do not have an easy up. I figured my friend who is planning to come with me from Mass might have something.
So, its gone from 5$ to 10$ for set up? There is potluck, water and a portapotty provided. Parking?? I think I'll spend more than I'll make coming down from Maine but you all sound like so much fun. My gf in Mass and I don't usually get to do this kind of thing so we are coming. I don't know what food item we'll bring, sorry. Does everyone sit down to lunch?
Sonew- THE FISH ARE COOL! So very great. I love the colors!!

Well, yes to most of your questions. When the food is done it is a buffet line and people usualy hang in groups, mill about and chat. Lawn chairs are a must for this part. The tent will run about $350 to $450 ....Believe me I am not going to be making a profit on this:). We will have parking here at the arm...no fee :p. I have one extra asy up. We will see who need what.....

This will be so much fun!

the fish are awesome! Cindy in Tx makes them with her husband. She can not make it this year and have wonderfully and so generously offered one for our raffle and she is shipping some extra ones for sale as well.

They are even more awesome in person!

You have to come - it is sooooooooo much fun!!!!!!!!! Everyone is so nice!!!!!!!!!!! It's like Woodstock!!!! You can hang out, walk around, talk, yada, yada, yada, eat, buy raffle tickets..............

OK- I will bring silkies ONLY if someone wants them ahead of time and can paypal me the money - PM me and I can send pictures - but I have one splash silkie rooster, a splash hen and two black pullets - all very nice quality birds I got from Bad Azz Silkies (Bob). I am driving 4 1/2 hours and really do not want to drive home with anything I bring.

Since you're asking for money ahead of time, could you post some pictures? I'm definitely interested in the hen and pullets - how old are they (all 3)?

Thanks!

The hens were all hatched last August, I think, they are all from Bad Azz Silkies. As soon as I can get home before it gets dark, I will post current pics. The splash silkie pullet is really pretty and so is the black. The roo, is too, but you only wanted hens, right?

Also, I don't think any of us really makes a profit at a Chickenstock, considering all the time and money we put into it. This is ESPECIALLY true for the person whose property we are going to convey on with all of our tents, RV's, kids, animals and their poop, garbage and toilets we need. I know April has been working on this since last year getting her property ready. If $10 is all it is, I am more than willing to pay more considering a HUGE event tent runs into the hundreds of dollars. It seems a small, very small, price to pay when in all honesty, the homeowner has to lay out all the cash beforehand.Plus, all the food!!!!!!!! Trust me, there is no big money to be made here, but a good time is guaranteed!!

Well, anything chicken related for sure.

I have had a few people say they will add something on that day. Those 2 are people who are selling other things like hand made or home made things...

You do not HAVE to put anything in the raffle at all. If you come have fun and maybe bring a dish that would be a success in my book

I have a wall mounted, cast iron, rooster dinner bell to add to the raffle.
