After 3 attempts this one has finally been the best..the ones that looked the best weren’t working for me..I see many have claimed success with the pvc feeder but I could never get it to work “by itself”...I had to constantly give the pipe a bump or shake to get the feed to come down every couple of days...I went with a much simpler and cheaper to make design..
I have 5 hens..i can’t belive it but It’s been 20 days since I have made it and I haven’t touched it, feed continues to flow. 20 days for a refill, and don’t need to adjust it, shake it, poke at it, nothing....figured I’d share
First attempt ...good idea, looks cool...didn’t work at all
Second attempt....worked better but still had to give it a shake every 3 day since or so...not horrible but wanted a better solution...
What I did 20 days ago...5G bucket, 2” holes about 2” from bottom of bucket, have a piece of wood under the pan (cheap cooking pan) and a bolt thru the wood, thru the pan, into the bucket that holds it all together nice and tight and so I can simply grab the bucket to refill..very happy with this one and it’s the simplest
