4 legged chick - updated w/ pics 6/28 on page 7

I had an egg that didn't hatch, so I opened it.. it was one head, one neck, a Y shaped spine that supported 2 bodies, 4 wings, 4 legs! I have a pic but it's graphic..
Not sure anyone would want to see.

I personally think it's when the hen was not old enough and hadn't been laying all that long and it was probably a double yolker..

I hope your baby makes it okay!

You might send photos and an accompanying email tating the particular problems you are having (with the extra vent) to a veterinary college... they might wish to help you (I am thinking something needs to be done with one of those vents) and not charge a fee since it is an oddity that they might wish to document (and fix). God luck!

I already contacted Texas A & M and they said it was a genetic defect. They werent interested as I thought they would too. They also added that he could have other multiple internal organs as well. O'well.

I cancelled my avian vet appointment. I want to make sure he is going to live before I spend a small fortune on him. He gets along fine currently and isnt having any problems other than the dirty butt because of how high up the vents are located.

I will get more pictures of him so you can see his growth progress.

I was curious also as if it had separate internal organs. Intestines and such. What about the crop? does it feel like there may be two? Does she eat more than the others her age? I do hope she make sit. I bet she does.
Have you contacted Ripley's believe it or not yet. I really think you shoud have this documented in some books somewhere.

To the other person with the pic, I would love to see it too. I'm a curious person also.
