I suppose it’s not 100% sure but she’s so like the other girl, and we have just had 3 eggs in the space of 2 days, so I doubt they could have all been laid by the same bird?

Are you sure they are that young? coturnix usually start laying and mating from 7 weeks, 4 weeks seem extremely young! When my quail fight it is usually either male to male or sometimes female to female, but rarely male to female... it is definitely a good idea like the others said to have a back up pen for if a hen gets too roughed up, and it can happen fast. A couple months ago i checked them in the morning as usual, they were fine, checked them at noon, one had its eyelid completely pecked off and its head scalped, a hen was doing it to another hen!! So check them as often as you can, especially when those hormones first start kicking in, and in the spring when they start laying again.I suppose it’s not 100% sure but she’s so like the other girl, and we have just had 3 eggs in the space of 2 days, so I doubt they could have all been laid by the same bird?
Yes We hatched them so I’m definite about how old they are! It’s 5 weeks tho not 4. Keeping a really good eye on them - lots of people say it can get out of hand pretty quicklyAre you sure they are that young? coturnix usually start laying and mating from 7 weeks, 4 weeks seem extremely young! Wow five weeks is still early, but not unheard of as is 4. Hope they settle down soon for you! Wish mine would lay that early too!Yes We hatched them so I’m definite about how old they are!
